Emperor Marcus Aurelius, also known as one of the greatest philosophers of his time, is campaigning for his last expedition to quell the revolt of the Germanic tribes in the North. While masterfully leading this war, he secretly drafts a decree to return Rome to its people and abolish the Empire. But before he can announce his decision, he is found dead in his tent. This heinous murder could mark the beginning of the bloody reign of Lucius Commodus, his son with paranoid tendencies and a pronounced taste for debauchery and gladiatorial games. The Senate is determined to prevent this catastrophe! This power struggle is likely to spark a murderous period for Rome.
